Darkness, instead of avoiding it, keeping my eyes tightly shut and groping for the light switch, afraid of what's out there. I chose to embrace it. To live a balanced life, we need to allow the different facets of our persona a chance to just be.
Annoyed, saddened and disbelief are some of the words that came to mind, as I read an email sent to me by angry Christians, urging me to forward this email to “ALL CHRISTIANS”, to boycott Woolworths and to pray for their (woolworths) demise.
I sat wide-eyed reading these ignorant responses. All because a supermarket marked hot cross buns safe for the Muslim community to eat. Yes safe to eat, and not prayed upon as the email states. Do these Christians really believe that Jesus would mind that a bread product that is merely a symbol of Christianity be eaten and enjoyed by other religions?
Woolworths, knowing their consumers realised that the buns are enjoyed by people other than Christians and did the responsible thing of making sure the hot cross buns were certified safe for Muslim consumption.
Focus on peace, on healing a broken world, on what you can do to improve the life of another, no matter what your or their belief is. Don’t waste your time and energy on petty things.
To those who still insist on advocating this ‘Hot Cross Bun Crusade’ ponder this; 1: Jesus is featured in the Koran. 2: The hot cross bun’s origins lay with the Saxons, who ate it to honour their goddess Eostre. The cross divided the bun into four sections, representing the four phases of the moon.

Beware! Black Cat Enchantment!
It is well know that if a black cat crosses your path, your are doomed to have bad luck. To protect yourself against this ill fate do the following:
Spit on the ground, turn yourself around (counter-clockwise) three times, and retrace your last thirteen steps. If at all possible choose an alternate route to your destination. Chant the following:
Black Cat, i do pray,
Bring me luck and bless my way
Do not choose to bring me harm
Let me pass with this small charm.
If a Black Cat stops in your path, a simple stroke along the back as a gesture of kindness will go a long way toward the effectiveness of the charm.
Haunted door (by Tackli)
Dreamed of a certain door upon which I developed a strange and certain fixation. The conversation was as simple as “hey, see that door over there?” And just like that - instant obsession. I never saw anyone go in or out of it, and I didn’t know what might have been behind it…but all the same I could not stop thinking of it. I must have woken up 2-3 times last night and fallen back into different dreams, but the door was present in all of them.
Take it away. I never had it anyway.
